"The Siglo Section Big Band making their first appearance for the South Wales Big Band Society and what a debut it was! They wowed us from the start to finish with some superb swing music. ...The name Siglo is apparently Swing in Welsh and they certainly lived up to it. The standard was very high and what makes it even more amazing is the Band has only been going since January.....They are also very fortunate to have as their Musical Director, Matt Lush, not only a fine keyboard player but a very likeable presenter with a zany sense of humour... The two talented young vocalists, Siobhan Waters and Elijah Jefferies were a delight and I especially liked their duet ‘At Last’ the great Etta James number.....This Band will go from strength to strength and we eagerly await their return in the very near future."
"Such a pool of young talent. Enjoyed the evening."
"Back by popular demand after their sparkling debut last year The Siglo Section Big Band under the musical direction of the multi talented Mr Matt Lush bowled us over once again with their brilliance....They certainly put their own unique stamp on the delightful and inspired program last night, and entertained us with some superb, fresh arrangements of the great swing classics from Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and many more.... My personal favourite was a knock out version of ’Caravan’ with some outstanding solo performances from each section of this exceptional band.....The very talented young vocalist Siobhan Waters sang some great standards beautIfully and I particularly loved her version of the great Etta James number ‘At Last’......They say variety is the spice of life and each week at the SWBBS we are entertained by some very fine musicians, something for everybody and tonight was no exception....Thank you all for a wonderful evening and we eagerly await your next visit."
